Listed below are some of the most common questions asked by our students and those who are considering enrollment in the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Houston-Victoria. • What kind of course work, degrees, and certificates does the School of Education and Human Development offer?
  
  UHV is an upper division university, which means that we do not offer freshman and sophomore level courses. We offer junior and senior level undergraduate courses to complete bachelors' degrees; masters' courses in preparation for a number of masters' degrees; and undergraduate, post baccalalureate, and graduate level certificates. • Since UHV is an upper division university, how do I get a bachelor's degree there?
  
  UHV partners with junior and community colleges in our area to design transfer plans that we call 2 + 2 plans. These plans show the lower division courses you will take at the junior college of your choice and the upper division courses you will take at UHV to complete your bachelor's degree.
• Why should I go to a community college and finish my degree at UHV instead of going to a four-year college?
  
  Students who attend community or junior colleges and complete their education at an upper division university like UHV save money on tuition and fees and receive a quality education. They usually benefit by reducing the distance they have to travel to class as well. Classes are generally smaller and students receive more individual attention.
• What is a transfer agreement and why should I sign one?
  
  A signed transfer agreement locks in your 2 + 2 plan. If SEHD course requirements change between the time that you sign your agreement and the time that you enter the School of Education and Human Development, your plan will remain the same. The only exception to the agreement is when the State of Texas mandates a change. In that event we have no choice but to require that you meet the new standard.
