Hello and welcome to the internet home page of the School of Education& Human Development at the University of Houston- Victoria. From our beginnings in 1973 this School has a long and rich tradition in the preparation of education professionals and human service personnel.
The School of Education & Human Development offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees. The undergraduate degree is for those seeking elementary, middle and secondary teaching careers.
In addition we offer graduate studies in Curriculum and Instruction (Literacy Studies, Elementary Mathematics Education, Elementary Science Education and Secondary Education) , Special Education (Applied Behavior Analysis, Autism and Education Diagnostician), Educational Administration (Educational Leadership and Administration & Supervision) , Counselor Education (School Counseling, Community Counseling and Student Affairs) and Adult and Higher Education (Higher Education, Adult Education and a certificate in Professional Coaching).
Specific graduate degrees can lead to Professional TExES certifications in the following areas, Educational Diagnostician, Master Mathematics Teacher, Reading Specialist, Master Reading Teacher, School Principal, School Superintendent and School Counselor. Our graduate level program in Counseling can also lead to certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
