Admission Requirements

Prerequisites for Student Teaching

Specific Requirements for Secondary Education
(1)	Satisfactory completion of designated professional development courses except student teaching.
(2)	An overall grade point average of at least 2.5 and an average of at least 2.5 in both the teaching field(s) courses and professional development courses.
(3)	A student enrolled in SED 4303, SED 4304, and SED 4308 (student teaching seminar, secondary) should be in the last full semester prior to graduation.
(4)	May take no more than 3 hrs. in conjunction with Student Teaching. Spring Semester may take 6 hrs. during the following Summer Session.

Application for Student Teaching

All applications for student teaching regardless of area must be returned to the Teacher Education Records Office, 3007 N. Ben Wilson, Victoria, TX 77901, by March 1 for placement during subsequent fall semester and by September 15 for the subsequent spring semester.
