State and National Agencies

State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) - Texas' site for official records on educator certificates as well as information on how to become a teacher in Texas.

College for Texans - information on preparing for college, selecting a college, paying for college, making your way through college, and choosing a career.

National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) - the only accrediting body for schools, colleges, and departments of education authorized by the U.S. Department of Education. NCATE determines which schools, colleges, and departments of education meet rigorous national standards in preparing teachers and other school specialists for the classroom.

Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) - information on improving education in the south through accreditation.

Texas Education Agency - information including curriculum & assessment, educational programs, and school laws and rules.
