TExES Registration

Below is some useful information for the teacher certification process. Please read everything carefully so your certification process is not hindered. Be sure ALL your demographic information is current and correct with UHV as well as SBEC.

This website can help you do the following:
- Register for the certification exams
- Provide you with instructions on how to obtain your TEA ID# that is a MUST for exam registration
- Preparation manuals have test taking strategies for you as well as a practice exam
- Frequently asked questions
- A means for changing your testing location
- View unofficial scores
Registering for the TExES exam:
- Complete the TExES registration form either online at the UHV school of education and human development homepage or in the TERO in university west building 222. Wait 48 hours to process.
- Register online at the above website.
- It is important that ALL information is correct or your registration will be stopped
- You MUST provide the following information:
  - Name as it appears in SBEC website
  - Date of birth: month, day, year
  - Email address that you use regularly
  - SSN#
  - Test date
  - Telephone number you use the most
  - Ethnicity
- The Registration process is going to ask you your ROUTE TO CERTIFICATION This information must be accurate. Please read below and see which route you are in as of registration time:
  - Obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from UHV = University Initial with Prep
  - Already have a Bachelor’s degree in a face to face certification program =University POST BAC with Prep
  - VOICE student taking content exams = University Post Bac without Prep
  - VOICE students take PPR exam = University Post Bac with Prep
