Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

** IMPORTANT** The Behavior Analyst Certification Board is requiring all programs to create course work based on the new Fourth Edition Task list. This constitutes a change in course work hours required by the BACB from 225 to 270. UHV has been approved to offer the Fourth Edition Course sequence. This will constitute some minor changes to current courses and the addition of a new course. So students, under the fourth edition must take six courses, instead of five to meet the BACB coursework requirements. The BACB is offering the last certification exam under the Third Edition in September of 2014. That means you must have completed all course work and supervision hours, as well as the BACB certification exam application in order to take the test under the Third edition. Keep in mind that independent field based supervision can take you anywhere from 12 to 36 months to complete. Also note you can start field based supervision once you start taking classes.

UHV will begin to offer the fourth edition course work beginning in the Fall of 2013. If you start taking classes this summer consider your time line for completing classes and supervision. If you will not be able to test under the third edition be sure to take the six classes in the course sequence for the Fourth Edition. If you need further assistance or have questions about the switch from the Third Edition to Fourth Edition course sequence please contact Dr. Andria Young at younga@uhv.edu
