The Master of Education degree in Educational Administration is designed to provide knowledge and skills to professionals in preparation for school leadership positions and to provide a program of courses that satisfies requirements for certification as a principal. Graduate students may pursue a master's degree in educational administration with principal certification (must pass TExES 068 exam), or a master’s degree in General Leadership. Professionals who hold a graduate degree and who have taught a minimum of two years in an accredited school can complete the principal certification program leading to principal certification upon successful passing of the TExES 068 exam. Additionally, UHV's program also offers a Superintendent Certification program which prepares professionals to be leaders at the highest level in school leadership as school district superintendents in Texas. Successful passing of TExES 064 exam is required to attain superintendent certification. Both master’s level programs are delivered on the UHV campus in Victoria and at the UH System in Sugar Land and Cinco Ranch/Katy.
The mission of the University of Houston-Victoria's Educational Administration program is to develop leaders who advance ethics, excellence, and the highest educational standards in our society's schools.
