Students enrolling in the VOICE program will select six of the eight classes listed below depending on whether they choose to do an internship or practice teaching. Those who have full-time teaching positions in accredited Texas schools will take CUIN 6316 and CUIN 6317. Those who choose to practice teach will take CUIN 6318 and CUIN 6319. CUIN 6318 must be taken prior to enrollment in CUIN 6319.

CUIN 6316 Applications of Educational Roles & Responsibilities I
This course is designed to provide interns with the skills needed to fulfill their professional roles and responsibilities in an accredited school setting.

CUIN 6318 Practicum Seminar
This course provides an understanding of the complex and dynamic nature of teaching.
CUIN 6320 Models of Teaching
Formulation and implementation of various teaching strategies supported by current research theory and practice to promote learning in EC-12 classrooms
Spring
CUIN 6312 Human Development & Learning
Theoretical study of the social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of children and adolescents as they apply to learning experiences in the classroom.
CUIN 6317 Applications of Educational Roles & Responsibilities II
This course is designed to provide interns with the skills needed to fulfill their professional roles and responsibilities in an accredited school setting.

CUIN 6319 Practicum in Teaching
The Practicum in Teaching is supported by current research practices in a public school or TEA accredited private school and guided by a mentor teacher.
Summer
CUIN 6314 Classroom Practice, Process, & Procedure
Formulation and implementation of the essential knowledge and skills necessary for becoming a professional educator. Content includes theories of curriculum development, instructional technology, and classroom management.
FEDU 6323 Cultural & Social Foundations of American Education
Analysis of social, political and economic forces that impact education in the United States. (Formerly: Cultural Foundations of American Education.)
Eligibility to take the PPR All Certification Areas
After completion of CUIN 6312, CUIN6314, CUIN 6320 and FEDU 6323 with passing grades students are required to complete the following steps in the order they are numbered: Note you can take the PPR in your last semester of course work however you will not be able to register until you are in the last month of that semester. So for example if you are taking your last classes from the list above in the Fall you will be able to register for the PPR in November.
