Students Seeking a BSIS Degree
The faculty and staff in the School of Education and Human Development (SoEHD) at the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) would like to welcome you to our undergraduate programs. Students seeking the Bachelor of Science Interdisciplinary Studies (BSIS) degree may choose between UHV’s Early Childhood-through-fourth (EC-6) program and the four-through-eight (4-8) program. Upon completion of the BSIS degree students may achieve one of the following teaching certificates from the State of Texas:
- EC - Grade 6 Generalist Certificate
- Grade 4 – Grade 8 Generalist Certificate
Upon completing either the EC-6 Generalist or the 4-8 Generalist and taking the required additional courses, a student may also achieve one of the following teacher certifications from the State of Texas:
- Special Education Certificate (All level – EC-12)
- English as a Second Language Certificate
