Independent Study
Cr. 3 per semester or more than 3 by concurrent enrollment. Prerequisite: Approval of school dean.

 

EED 4303: 4304:

Elementary School Student Teaching
Cr. 3 per course. Prerequisite: Admission by application to the Director of Field Experiences. Undergraduate credit only.
Classroom management, record keeping and observation; teaching in a public school, guided by a cooperating teacher and directed by a University Supervisor.

 

EED 4305:

Student Teaching in the Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten
Cr. 3. Prerequisite: Admission by application to the Director of Field Experiences.
Classroom management, record keeping and observation; teaching in a public school, guided by a cooperating teacher and directed by a University Supervisor.

 

EED 4308:

Elementary School Internship I
Cr. 3. Prerequisites: Admission by application to Director of Field Experiences.
Teaching in an accredited school, guided by a mentor teacher, directed by a University Supervisor.

 

EED 4309:

Elementary School Internship II
Cr. 3. Prerequisites: Admission by application to Director of Field Experiences.
Teaching in an accredited school, guided by a mentor teacher, directed by a University Supervisor.

Early Childhood Education
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: Consent of instructor.
Programs for young children and the analysis and interpretation of related research.

 

EED 6365:

Teaching the Language Arts
Cr. 3. (3-0).
Application of varied developmentally appropriate methodologies integrating the curriculum through the Language Arts.

 

EED 6367:

Literature for Children
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: LIT 3325 or equivalent or consent of instructor.
Analysis of fiction and nonfiction, approaches to criticism and emphasis upon criteria for selection of books for literary study.
