The mission of the Master of Science in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship is to teach the knowledge and skills required for success as an economic development professional, entrepreneur, corporate entrepreneur, or social entrepreneur by integrating economic development and entrepreneurship to improve the quality of life in the globally competitive and dynamic world, and by engaging the university in regional economic development.
The following courses are required for attaining the Master of Science in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship degree. Courses are listed in the recommended completion order.
REQUIRED CORE COURSES (30 HOURS)
EDE 6350 Introduction to Economic Development and Entrepreneurship
EDE 6351 Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship and Innovation
EDE 6352 Developing the Business Plan (EDE 6351)
EDE 6353 Nurturing and Growing the Fledgling Venture
EDE 6354 Growing the Successful Venture (EDE 6353)
EDE 6355 Economic Development and Entrepreneurial Finance
EDE 6356 Methods in Economic Development
EDE 6357 The Practice of Local Economic Development (EDE 6350, EDE 6355, EDE 6356)
EDE 6358 Theory and Practice of Regional Economic Development (EDE 6350, EDE 6356)
EDE 6359 Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Project (must be within 9 hours of graduation)
REQUIRED ELECTIVE COURSES (6 HOURS)
Each student will be required to take one entrepreneurship-related course and one economic development-related course. Entrepreneurship courses
may come from the MBA graduate course offerings and economic development courses may come from the MBA graduate course offerings or from
graduate course offerings of other schools within the university with the approval of the program director.

SPECIAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
EDE 6359 will require the student to apply the knowledge gained in the program by completing a special project related to economic development
and/or entrepreneurship. Prior to registration for the course, the student must have the project approved by the program director and the
course instructor.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Admission standards for this program are consistent with the current university admission standards for the MBA program. Please refer to
