Degree Requirements for the
Global Master of Business Administration

The mission of the Global MBA is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to function as managers in the global marketplace. Specifically, the Global MBA program seeks to develop in each graduate the capacity to:

  • Analyze the changing global environment;
  • Analyze cultural differences to address organizational issues from a global perspective;
  • Apply theories, models, or tools to solve global business issues; and
  • Apply functional knowledge and skills to address cross-disciplinary issues in the global marketplace.

The following courses are required for attaining the Global Master of Business Administration degree. Courses are listed in the recommended completion order.

CONCENTRATION (12 HOURS)
Choose one of the following:

Finance: Bridge Global MBA students may complete 12 semester hours chosen from the following electives to achieve a concentration in Finance:

  • FIN 6361 Investments
  • FIN 6362 Financial Institutions and Markets
  • FIN 6363 Financial Modeling
  • FIN 6364 Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities
  • ACC 6377 International Accounting
  • Study Abroad (May be completed in Management, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or Accounting.) Limit one, if outside of concentration area.

Management: Bridge Global M.B.A. students may complete the following 12 semester hours to achieve a concentration in Management:

  • MGT 6353 Management of Diversity in Organizations
  • MGT 6354 Leadership and Organizational Change
  • MGT 6371 Contemporary Management Issues
  • MGT 6374 Human Resource Management
  • MGT 6387 Comparative Management
  • Study Abroad (May be completed in Management, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or Accounting.) Limit one, if outside of concentration area.

General Business: Bridge Global M.B.A. students may choose to complete 12 hours of graduate business electives without designating a concentration. One study abroad course may be completed in Management, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or Accounting.

Accounting: Bridge Global M.B.A. students may choose to complete one of the two options to achieve a concentration in Accounting:

  • Four accounting electives or
  • Three accounting electives plus one finance, economics, or study abroad elective (Study abroad course may be completed in Management, Marketing, Finance, or Economics.)

Marketing: Bridge Global M.B.A. students may choose 4 of 7 electives listed to complete a concentration in Marketing:

  • MKT 6371 Seminar in Consumer Behavior
  • MKT 6372 Marketing Research
  • MKT 6373 Seminar in Business to Business Marketing
  • MKT 6374 Seminar in Services Marketing
  • MKT 6375 Seminar in Integrated Marketing Communication

Entrepreneurship: Global M.B.A. students may choose 4 of 7 electives listed to complete a concentration in Entrepreneurship:

  • EDE 6350 Introduction to Economic Development and Entrepreneurship
  • EDE 6351 Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • EDE 6352 Developing the Business Plan
  • EDE 6353 Nurturing and Growing the Fledgling Venture
  • EDE 6354 Growing the Successful Venture
  • EDE 6355 Economic Development and Entrepreneurial Finance

Economic Development: Global M.B.A. students may choose 4 of 6 electives listed to complete a concentration in Economic Development:

  • EDE 6350 Introduction to Economic Development and Entrepreneurship
  • EDE 6355 Economic Development and Entrepreneurial Finance
  • EDE 6356 Methods in Economic Development
  • EDE 6387 The Practice of Local Economic Development
  • EDE 6358 Theory and Practice of Regional Economic Development
