Job Choices is a series of publications by the National Association of Colleges and Employers that informs students about the job market and the latest hiring trends. 

 

Three publications are available, including

  • Job Choices: Diversity Edition,
  • Job Choices for Business & Liberal Arts Students, and
  • Job Choices for Science, Engineering, & Technology Students.

The list price for Job Choices is $16.95, but Job Choices magazines are available to UHV Students and Alumni for FREE by  contacting Career Services.  **While Supplies Last.**

Occupational Outlook Handbook, published by U. S. Department of Labor, provides career information such as the nature of work, salary, requirements and qualifications, and projected job outlook and much more. The Handbook is updated every 2 years.

 

The International Assessment Network provides a free career analysis online. The Motivational Appraisal of Personal Potential (MAPP) online allows readers to learn about 10 suggested vocational areas which match their motivations and interests toward work


America’s Career InfoNet explores information on various occupations. This site also provides a multitude of links to general career sites, assessment and counseling services, education and financial aid information, national and state career sites, and much more.

 

Career Development eManual, created by the University of Waterloo's Career Services, guides users through a six step process, beginning with self assessment.
