Occupational Outlook Handbook, published by U. S. Department of Labor, provides career information such as
the nature of work,
salary, requirements and qualifications, and projected
job outlook and much more. The Handbook is updated every
2 years.
Texas Labor Market Review,
a monthly newsletter of the Labor Market Information
Department of the Texas Workforce Commission, provides
current information and statistics about the Texas
economy generally, and the Texas labor force
specifically. Each issue contains a brief overview of
the Texas economy, an in-depth feature article, and
highlights of employment figures important to the Texas
economy.
The TLMR is a PDF publication.
LMCI's Economic Profiles are designed to give
a brief fact filled one-page snapshot of an area
economy. The economic profiles cover Texas as a whole
and by industry, the Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA),
and the Workforce Development Areas (WDA). Each profile
is updated monthly, and is displayed as an Acrobat PDF
file for easy downloading.
Transitions Abroad is a bimonthly magazine of
practical information for independent-minded travelers
who want to experience the thrills and lifelong rewards
of immersion abroad. Each issue covers the alternatives
to mass tourism: learning, living, working, studying and
volunteering abroad, as well as vacationing with the
people of the host country. Copies can be
viewed in the Career Services office (room 133, UW).
