Spring Commencement and Reception
The University of Houston-Victoria recognized about 275 graduates during spring commencement at 9 a.m. May 10 in front of the University West building on campus.
UHV Faculty Senate President Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, an associate professor of management, served as grand marshal. The UHV school deans awarded students their diplomas, and Hudson conferred the degrees. Outstanding students for the spring semester and professors receiving awards for excellence in teaching, research and service were also recognized.
Presidential candidate and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul delivered the commencement address.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held for graduates and their guests.
The following students were recognized as the Outstanding Students for the spring:

The University of Houston-Victoria also recognized the outstanding professors who have influenced many of the graduates. The following professors received recognition:

Barba Patton- 2007-2008 Distinguished Faculty Service Award
Nagarajan Ramamoorthy- 2007-2008 Research and Scholarly Activities Award
