UHV Off the Clock to Feature UH Coach Briles

Football fans take note: University of Houston head coach Art Briles will return to Victoria on Thursday, July 27, as an “Off the Clock” featured guest of the University of Houston-Victoria. Members of the community are invited to join UHV students, alumni, faculty and staff at Tejas Café and Bar from 5 to 7 p.m. for the event.

While at Off the Clock, attendees can meet Briles and sign up to win door prizes including tickets to the UH football game against the University of Tulsa on November 4. Complimentary appetizers and a cash bar will be available.

“We’re excited to have Coach Briles back for another Off the Clock,” said alumni relations specialist Sarah May. “We invite everyone to participate in this event and wish him and the Cougars good luck for the upcoming season.”

A former UH wide receiver, Briles has spent his entire coaching career in the state of Texas. He led the Cougars to a bowl game in his first year coaching the team, and he was recently inducted into the Big Country Hall of Fame.

Off the Clock is an opportunity for UHV graduates to network with other alumni in Victoria, as well as a chance for students to make future business contacts. Community members can learn more about UHV in an informal setting.

UHV hosts Off the Clock bi-monthly. The event is free and open to the public. For more information contact Sarah May at (361) 570-4363. Or to RSVP, call (361) 570-4346.
