SUGAR LAND - Everyone seems to be asking the question, “How do you find a job in this down economy?”
|
| Rick Gillis |
To answer the question, the University of Houston-Victoria is bringing in job search expert Rick Gillis from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the University of Houston System at Sugar Land.
Gillis will discuss techniques and strategies to use when applying for a job during the free seminar in the Multi-Purpose Room of Brazos Hall, 14004 University Blvd. The event is open to the public.
Gillis is a job search expert, radio personality, and author of “The Real Secret to Finding a Job? Make Me Money or Save Me Money!” He also launched the first local employment Web site for the greater Houston market.
“With one out of every 10 people in this country unemployed, this is information a lot of people need to hear,” said Eunice Mesa, UHV Career Services coordinator. “And as a university, our whole purpose is to give people the knowledge they need to succeed.”
UHV offers many of the programs at UHSSL.
For more information about the event, contact Mesa at 361-570-4369, toll-free at 877-970-4848 ext. 369, or mesae@uhv.edu.
