The University of Houston-Victoria continues to set record-breaking attendance figures with preliminary fall enrollment reaching 3,702 students, a 48.6 percent growth over fall of 2005.
“We have experienced phenomenal growth during the last four years that any business would be thrilled to achieve,” UHV President Tim Hudson said. “We’re constantly changing to accommodate this growth, most recently with our preparations to add freshmen and sophomores in the fall of 2010.”
UHV exceeded the 3,000-student mark for the first time last fall when 3,174 students enrolled at the university. The 3,702 students enrolled at UHV this fall show a preliminary increase of 16.6 percent over the previous fall.
“I’d like to thank the UHV faculty, staff and administrators for all their hard work to make these last few years so successful,” said Suzanne LaBrecque, provost and vice president for academic affairs. “We are continuing to develop new programs to meet the expectations of students in the Coastal Bend area.”
Fall enrollment in 2005 was 2,491 students. Enrollment increased to 2,652 in fall of 2006 and to 2,784 the following fall. Final enrollment figures for this semester will be released in mid-October after certification from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
