KATY - Anyone looking for a rewarding new career at a public school can find a lot of options at the Education Job Fair from 1 to 3 p.m. April 24 at the University of Houston System at Cinco Ranch, 4242 S. Mason Rd.
“We want to invite education majors, experienced professionals, counselors, paraprofessionals and anyone else interested in working for one of the Houston-area school systems,” said Eunice Mesa, Career Services coordinator at the University of Houston-Victoria, which offers classes at UHSCR.
About 20 school districts will be represented. The event is free. Attendees are encouraged to dress professionally and bring plenty of resumes, Mesa said.
Information about degrees and certification programs at UHV also will be available.
“Education offers a very rewarding career in a recession-resistant field,” said Dennis Riedesel, director of field-based experiences and certification officer at the UHV School of Education & Human Development.
UHV’s VOICE program allows professionals with bachelor’s degrees to become certified teachers in less than a year. Students can complete most of the program entirely online.
