Businesses need a plan for how to operate and outmaneuver the competition in order to grow and prosper, SBDC Director Joe Harper said.
“A business plan gives you a clear understanding of your business, how it operates and the environment in which it works,” he said. “Strategic planning helps you develop a clear plan for where you want your business to be and how you will get it there.”
Good planning allows business operators to quickly adapt to changing market conditions and expand their businesses in intelligent ways.
“That makes your business more profitable and more sustainable, even in a challenging economy like the one we are in now,” he said.
The UHV SBDC provides business consulting services, many of them free, to entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs in Victoria and 10 surrounding counties.
“We are here to help build the economy one business at a time,” Harper said. “Small business is the backbone of the American economy.”
