Riverside Stadium saw crowds of up to 1,200 cheering fans in the Jaguars first baseball season despite predictions from other schools in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics to expect no more than 300 people.

To thank the local fans for their phenomenal support, UHV Athletics has declared Wednesday night's final home games as "Fan Appreciation Night."

Prizes, including Jaguars clothing, autographed Jaguars memorabilia and gift certificates from local restaurants, will be given away after the first game and throughout the rest of the evening as a way of thanking the fans for their amazing support.

The Jaguars will face the Alvin Community College Dolphins in doubleheader action starting at 5 p.m. General admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students with ID. Kids under 11 always get in free with a paid adult.

Team members will be available to meet the public and sign autographs after the game.

For more information, call Debbie Griffiths at (361) 570-4336.

PLEASE NOTE: The time for Wednesday's first game has been moved from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
