Potential University of Houston-Victoria students will have an easy way to find out more about the university on Tuesday.
UHV is holding an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the University Center building, 3007 N. Ben Wilson.
“The way UHV serves the community is by providing opportunities for people to enhance their quality of life through higher education. We hope people will come away from the open house realizing that UHV can help them achieve their goals,” said Sandy Hybner, organizer of the open house and student recruitment coordinator for the School of Education & Human Development.
Representatives from UHV’s four schools – Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Education & Human Development, and Nursing – will be available to answer questions about the more-than-30 degree programs and concentrations offered face to face and online. Whether students are interested in UHV’s new Master of Science in Nursing, Global Master of Business Administration, Master of Education in Counseling or undergraduate classes in digital simulation and gaming, there’s something right for everyone.
In addition to finding out more about UHV’s degree programs and concentrations, those attending can visit with representatives from various university offices. Representatives from Admissions and Records will walk potential students through applying to UHV, while staff from the Office of Financial Aid will provide information about ways to make obtaining a higher education more affordable.
Other booths at the open house will include representatives from athletics, alumni relations, career services, study abroad, student services and continuing education. Letting Education Achieve Dreams, which strives to increase the number of Hispanic students at UHV, also will have a booth at the event.
Refreshments will be served, and UHV door prizes will be awarded.
