Elizabeth “Izzy” Glowney has signed a letter of intent to play softball for the University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars.
Glowney, from The Woodlands, Texas, is the starting second baseman for the St. Petersburg College Titans in Florida and was a four-time MVP while playing high school ball for The Woodlands High School.

“I am very happy to sign Izzy,” head coach Keri Lambeth said. “She provides us with depth in the infield, gives us some flexibility for next season and will be a key member of our program going forward.”
As a senior, Glowney was named in 2006 to the UIL Class 5-A All-State Team when she led the Lady Highlanders to the area championship. That same year, Glowney was named Montgomery County’s Best Defensive Player.
“Izzy broke several records while in high school, but most importantly, she is a top student,” UHV Athletic Director Ashley Walyuchow said. “She was named to the All-District Academic Team, and at St. Petersburg College, she’s been named to the Academic All-Conference and All-State teams.”
As a freshman at St. Petersburg College, Glowney was third on the team in stolen bases with 10, and her 24 RBIs made her fourth best on the team.
Lambeth is expected to sign a few more players this spring.
The Jaguars are in the middle of their inaugural season of collegiate softball and have compiled a record of 15-9. They compete as members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
This weekend, the Jaguars will play in the Leadoff Classic in Orange Beach, Ala.
