Students at the University of Houston-Victoria now have more time to register for fall 2007 courses. UHV has extended the registration and payment deadline from Aug. 17 to Aug. 30. Late registration fees will also be waived during this period.
Although course registration will continue to Aug. 30, the first day of class for the fall 2007 semester begins on Monday, Aug. 20.
Trudy Wortham, UHV registrar, partially credits the registration extension to a surge of student applications.
“This time of the year is always busy for us here in the admissions office,” said Wortham. “But we’ve definitely noticed an increase in student applications. It takes time to process these applications, so I think it’s great that students have more time to get their paperwork to us.”
Wortham stated this extension will also provide students time to familiarize themselves with PeopleSoft, UHV’s new online student administration system.
Students can register online at www.uhv.edu/myPeopleSoft/.
To avoid being dropped from courses on Aug. 31, students should arrange payment by midnight, Aug. 30.
