UHV head softball coach Keri Lambeth has announced the signing of two players from Navarro College. Pitcher/ first base Stephanie Lavey and catcher Samantha Campagna both signed letters of intent to play with the Jaguars.
This past season, Lavey broke the Navarro College record for home runs in a season with 12. The Mesquite native had grabbed a share of that record last year when she belted 11 home runs. Lavey also compiled a 6-5 record on the mound.
“Stephanie brings power and I expect her to drive in a lot of runs for the Jaguars,” said Lambeth. “She also provides pitching depth, which is very important at the NAIA level.”
Campagna, who hails from Houston, was fourth on the team in 2007 with a .359 average. Her experience behind the plate should help the pitching staff gel.
“Sam will be one of our on-field leaders during games,” said Lambeth. “Sam’s experience is invaluable and she also brings a solid bat to our lineup.”
