UHV signs NCAA Division 1 player

Kristen Lindley to transfer and join the Jaguars.

Pitcher Kristen Lindley has signed a letter of intent to play collegiate softball with the University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars.

Lindley has played the last two seasons at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. During her career with the NSU Demons, Lindley compiled a record of 7 wins, 12 losses in 42 appearances. She started 27 games. Lindley also compiled a 4.00 GPA and has been recognized for her prowess in the classroom.

Lindley was heavily recruited out of Klein Collins High School where she lettered four years in softball and one year in volleyball. As a senior, she was a member of the district championship team and was named first-team All District, team MVP, and earned the Team Captain Award. As a junior she was second-team All-District. In her sophomore year, she was first-team All-District. Freshman honors included, first-team All-District, team MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year.

Jaguars head coach Keri Lambeth is excited to get a player of Lindley’s caliber.

“To have such a talented and smart young lady transfer from the Division 1 setting to UHV speaks volumes about the direction our program is heading,” said Lambeth. “Kristen brings experience and knowledge that will benefit our team.”

The Jaguars’ inaugural softball season begins in February 2008.
