The University of Houston-Victoria Small Business Development Center and School of Business Administration are among the local partners presenting a May 4 broadcast of world-renowned speakers.
The Chick-fil-A Leadercast is a one-day leader development event broadcast live from Atlanta to hundreds of sites, including Parkway Church, 4802 N. John Stockbauer. Among this year’s speakers are NFL quarterback Tim Tebow, CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien and Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts.
“We are pleased to help bring this event to Victoria,” said Joe Humphreys, director of the UHV Small Businesses Development Center. “The lineup of speakers for the Leadercast is a dynamic group of leaders, authors and business professionals. It should make for an educational and enlightening day.”
This year’s program will focus on the power of choice. The speakers will share insights to help leaders empower and equip others at work, home and in the community through their choices.
This is the 12th year of the Leadercast. Last year, 85,000 leaders from 17 countries attended the event.
Other speakers for the 2012 Leadercast include Roland Fryer, professor of economics at Harvard University and CEO of the Educational Innovation Laboratory; Patrick Lencioni, best-selling author and president of The Table Group; and Urban Meyer, the new head football coach at Ohio State.
Other local members of the host partnership are the Victoria Chamber of Commerce and Advanced Home Health Services. The event will be from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lunch is included.
Tickets are $55 until May 3 and $75 the day of the event. Online registration is available at http://www.uhvconnect.org/events/event_details.asp?id=203489.
