UHV encourages alumni to take survey

The University of Houston-Victoria is conducting an online survey of alumni to get feedback about their university experiences.

Based on results from this short survey and surveys of students, faculty and staff, a Quality Enhancement Plan will be developed for Reaffirmation 2014, the current preparation for an accreditation review by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges in the spring of 2014.

“It is important for us to hear from our alumni so that we can better determine the steps we need to take to provide an enhanced experience for students,” said Lawrence Rossow, associate vice president for the UHV Office of Institutional Effectiveness.

Although UHV already is accredited by SACS, member institutions must go through periodic reviews that show the university is continuing to provide quality education consistent with SACS guidelines. UHV’s last SACS visit took place in 2003.

While UHV maintains addresses for alumni and former students, not all contact information may be current.

UHV alumni who do not get an email from the university by Fridayare invited to take the survey by going to the Institutional Effectiveness homepage at www.uhv.edu/oie and clicking on the red survey link. Those who do receive an email will be able to link directly to the survey.

“Preparation for reaccreditation is a vital function of all colleges and universities,” UHV President Phil Castille said. “We strongly encourage our alumni to take part in this process.”
