“We are pleased to be recognized by GetEducated.com, which many people use to research cost and quality of programs,” said Farhang Niroomand, dean of the UHV School of Business Administration. “We strive for excellence, affordability and accessibility for students, and this ranking complements our rankings from other entities.”

GetEducated.com compared tuition and distance-learning fees at 67 regionally accredited universities. These universities offer 136 online business bachelor and master’s degrees. UHV’s online BBA was ranked the most affordable in Texas. It also was ranked No. 6 nationally in the 2009 survey. The rankings are released every two years.

UHV’s in-state students pay about $24,360 for an online BBA. By comparison, the average distance education cost for a BBA from other schools around the nation is $44,944.

“Online learning allows nontraditional students to attend America’s best universities in terms of brand reputation and affordability,” said Vicky Phillips, founder of GetEducated.com. “UHV is an undisputed Best Buy for students nationwide looking for a quality online business school with a top consumer ranking.”

GetEducated.com first recognized UHV in 2004 when it ranked the Strategic Master of Business Administration fourth as a Best Buy in regionally accredited universities across the nation.

In 2005, the UHV School of Business Administration received accreditation from AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, a hallmark of excellence achieved by fewer than 5 percent of business schools. In the 2010 GetEducated rankings, the school was ranked No. 4 for its Global MBA program, No. 17 for its Strategic MBA and a distance learning Best Buy compared with other AACSB-accredited schools. The School of Business Administration also has been recognized by The Princeton Review, Fortune Small Business Magazine and Entrepreneur Magazine.

“We are pleased to be recognized for the things UHV has made part of its mission, namely, quality education at affordable prices,” UHV President Philip Castille said. “We continue to pursue additional degree programs for both traditional, face-to-face students and those whose work schedule or commuting situations necessitate online study.”

The UHV School of Arts & Sciences’ bachelor’s degree in computer information systems made the GetEducated.com list earlier this year.
