University of Houston-Victoria 2011 Employee of the year

UHV recognizes Employee of the Year at luncheon

The University of Houston-Victoria 2011 Employee of the year is the general accounting manager for the university, it was announced on Tuesday.

Debbie Jozwiak received the top honor at the university’s annual Employee Recognition Luncheon. University employees gathered to recognize those celebrating employment anniversaries at UHV and to honor other employees for their hard work.

Stress, Health, & Well-Being: Thriving in the 21st Century

UHV professor authors book on stress, health and well-being

Two years of intensive writing and research on the mind-body connection culminated in January for a University of Houston-Victoria professor with the release of his book “Stress, Health, & Well-Being: Thriving in the 21st Century.”

Health psychologist Rick Harrington, a professor of psychology and chair of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Division in the UHV School of Arts & Sciences, authored the college textbook published by Cengage Learning. It is the most up-to-date textbook published on the subject of stress and health in more than 12 years, according to the author and publisher.

UHV Fall Graduates

UHV confers fall 2011 degrees

The University of Houston-Victoria has awarded 452 degrees to undergraduate and graduate students who completed their degrees in the fall.

Undergraduate candidates for honors wore gold braids over their robes during the Dec. 11 graduation ceremony at the Leonard E. Merrell Center in Katy. Those graduating cum laude, with honor, had grade-point averages of 3.5 to 3.67 on a 4.0 scale. Students graduating magna cum laude, with high honor, had GPAs of 3.68 to 3.84, and those graduating summa cum laude, with highest honor, had a GPA of 3.85 or higher.
