Decision and Event Progression

  1. An emergency event is occurring or is imminent     
  2. Emergency safety procedures are immediately activated, authorizing appropriate recovery teams to take whatever action is necessary to protect and minimize loss of life and property
  3. Administration advised of events.  Initial communication advisory to University community that an event has occurred or is imminent
  4. President (or designee) activates the Incident Command System Team or the Emergency Response Team
  5. Emergency management plan is implemented
  6. Recovery operations begin.  Affected Recovery Teams are activated
  7. Relocation to alternate site if necessary and available
  8. Resolution attained.  President declares an end to the emergency
  9. Return to as near normal operations as soon as practical
  10. Post-incident review and debriefing followed by plan updating from lessons learned
