"Success is not to be measured by income but by influence, not by power but by personality, not by capital but by character."

Beta Gamma Sigma

Beta Gamma Sigma Key

Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society for the best students in business programs and is accredited by AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in this honor society is the highest recognition business students anywhere in the world can receive in undergraduate or master’s programs accredited by AACSB, including the business programs at UHV. Of the 1,400 U.S. institutions with degree programs in business, only 457 have Beta Gamma Sigma chapters. Of the nearly 700,000 students enrolled in AACSB-accredited schools this year, only about 21,000 students will be elected to membership in the honor society.

BGS induction is by invitation only to students who meet the induction requirements. To be eligible for induction, prospective members must have earned grades which place them:

  • in the upper seven percent of the junior class;
  • in the upper 10 percent of the senior class;
  • in the upper 20 percent of the graduating master’s class.
