Master of Science in Economic Development & Entrepreneurship Online

Graduation Requirements

The Master of Science in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship program consists of 10 required courses, one entrepreneurship-related elective, and one economic development-related elective, for a total of 36 semester credit hours. Entrepreneurship courses may come from the MBA graduate course offerings and economic development may come from the MBA graduate course offerings or from graduate course offerings of other schools within the university with the approval of the program director.

Satisfactory completion of these 36 semester credit hours and successful completion of course-embedded assessments, including a special project related to economic development and/or entrepreneurship, are necessary for graduation. Maximum time for completion of the degree is five years.

The quality of a student's work must be kept at a 3.0 grade point average or better throughout the program. Courses in which the quality of work is lower than "C" must be repeated, and no more than two "C"s may be applied toward the degree plan. Courses may be repeated to achieve higher grades; in cases where courses have been repeated, both course grades remain on the transcript, but only the latest grade counts toward the grade point average for the degree. If a student's GPA falls below 3.0, the student will be placed on academic probation. Students on academic probation will be informed by SBA of any conditions for removing the probationary status.
