MBA Conference

MBA students enrolled in the program capstone, MGT 6359, participate in the MBA Conference during the final two weeks of the semester. The conference is held in the Cairo area, and dates for the event are published well in advance.

The highlight of the event of the case competition. Early in the semester, students are placed in teams and assigned an original case to prepare. Each team is given approximately 45 minutes to present its case to a panel of judges, comprised of faculty, industry representatives, and/or alumni of high-performing teams from previous MBA Conferences. Members of the top three teams are presented with certificates and invited back as panelists. The top team is honored on a perpetual plaque displayed in the School of Business Administration Student Services office.

Alumni who have participated in the case competition in the U.S., which was launched in Fall 2003, report that the experience was very valuable for them--not only giving them an opportunity to connect with their teammates, but also allowing them to emerge from the MBA program with absolute confidence that they could integrate the functional areas of business to solve real-world problems.
