Mission and Objectives
As the title of Thomas Friedman’s recent book proclaims, The World Is Flat--web-based technology enables us to reach around the globe as quickly as across campus. Horizons collapse and distance disappears. International engagement has become an essential component of students' education, without which they will be ill-equipped for the world to be, or even for the world that now is.
The UHV Fourth-Year Bridge Global MBA program combines two unique elements into a distinctive program:
- the "bridge" between the three-year baccalaureate degree and the graduate program, to broaden students' academic exposure and enhance their grasp of American culture; and
- the flexibility to respond to emerging issues in the global business environment.
Each class combines business theory with practical applications, ensuring that students grasp the context in which they will practice their new skills.
The personal attention that our faculty and staff give to our students is outstanding, and cited by many current students and alumni as one of the primary reasons they chose UHV. Our small-school atmosphere promotes the very best in student-faculty interaction, as well as student-to-student networking.
The mission of the Global MBA is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to function as managers in the global marketplace. Specifically, the Global MBA program seeks to develop in each graduate the capacity to:
- Understand and adapt to the changing global environment;
- Apply the functional knowledge and skills needed to address cross-disciplinary issues in the global marketplace;
- Understand and manage cultural differences inherent in a global workforce; and
- Apply appropriate specialized knowledge of theories, models and tools to solve global business and managerial issues.
