ACC 6351 Financial Reporting and Analysis

As a result of this course, students will be able to analyze and evaluate financial information with respect to profitability and risk of a firm. Credit will not be given for both ACC 6351 and ACC 6311.
ACC 6352 Strategic Cost Management
Cr. 3. (3-0) ACC 6351
This course emphasizes the integration of cost analysis and strategic analysis. Coverage includes activity based costing, target costing, value chain analysis, performance measurement matrices (e.g. balanced scorecard), strategic positioning, and product life cycle costing and management. Credit will not be given for both ACC 6352 and ACC 6315.
BUS 6351 Business and Society
Cr. 3. (3-0) Graduate standing
This course provides an understanding of the complex and dynamic nature of the internal and external environment of business.
ECO 6351 Economics for Managers
Cr. 3. (3-0) Graduate standing
A study of the domestic and global economic environment of organizations. Credit will not be given for both ECO 6351 and ECO 6311
FIN 6352 Financial Management
Cr. 3. (3-0) ACC 6351, ECO 6351, and QMS 6351
Effects of projects and financial policy on shareholder wealth. This course focuses on the basic concepts and methods of finance, including net present value, the capital asset pricing model, and market efficiency, within the context of the valuation of assets, risk and return, cost of capital, financial planning and forecasting, and agency theory. Credit will not be given for both FIN 6352 and FIN 6315
MGT 6351 Management and Organizational Behavior
Cr. 3. (3-0) Graduate standing
This course provides an overview of managerial functions with an emphasis on the study of individual, group and inter-group behaviors in organizations; focus will be contemporary management theories with an emphasis on practical applications. Credit will not be given for both MGT 6351 and MGT 6320.
MGT 6352 Management Information Systems
Cr. 3. (3-0) Basic competency in computer literacy
This course focuses on current (and future) information technology capabilities that can be leveraged for strategic and operational advantage, as well as the limitations and potential problems involved in the use of information technology. Credit will not be given for both MGT 6352 and MGT 6316.
MGT 6354 Leadership and Organizational Change
Cr. 3. (3-0) BUS 6351 and MGT 6351
This course examines the key role of the leader as a change agent in organizations. Students will be able to understand various models and theories of organizational change and the role of the leader in the diagnosis and implementation of change.
MGT 6355 Operations Management: Creating Competitive Advantages
Cr. 3. (3-0) QMS 6351
This course focuses on using operations to compete and win sustainable competitive advantage in the marketplace. Operations management covers the design, operation and improvement of the systems that create and deliver the firm’s primary products and services. Credit will not be given for both MGT 6355 and QMS 6322.
MGT 6359 Seminar in Strategic Management
Cr. 3. (3-0) ACC 6352, MGT 6352, MGT 6355, FIN 6352, MKT 6352 and either MGT 6353 or MGT 6354 (the remaining of which must be taken concurrently).
Using cases and recent articles, this course focuses on value creation through strategic formulation and implementation. Credit will not be given for both MGT 6359 and MGT 6331.
MKT 6352 Strategic Marketing Management
Cr. 3. (3-0) Graduate standing
The role of the marketing manager in analyzing market behavior, researching marketing opportunities, developing marketing strategies, and implementing and controlling the marketing effort. The emphasis is on the application of concepts to actual case histories. Credit will not be given for both MKT 6352 and MKT 6321.
QMS 6351 Statistics and Research Methods
Cr. 3. (3-0) Graduate standing and business calculus or equivalent
This course places a strong emphasis on the application of research methodology and statistical techniques to typical business problems encountered by management. Credit will not be given for both QMS 6351 and QMS 6311.
