About 58 University of Houston Victoria BBA students participated in the Fall 2010 BBA Conference held at the University of Houston System-Sugar Land campus on Saturday, November 20, 2010.
The BBA Conference, which was held for the first time in Spring 2007, is the culmination of the BBA program. Students enrolled in Strategic Management, the capstone course of the program, attend the event, which includes a luncheon in their honor. The BBA Conference provides students with the opportunity to apply what they have learned in the BBA program to real-world business situations. Students participating in the competition this semester prepared original business case analyses on McDonalds.
UHV School of Business Administration faculty and BBA program alumni served as panelists for the case competition. The student presentations are evaluated on several criteria, including purpose and organization, subject knowledge, use of multimedia, elocution, and graphic/visual design. Previous participants report that the case preparation and presentation experience and the chance to interact with faculty and fellow students make this event worthwhile.
The top ranking BBA student for the Fall 2010 BBA Conference was David McGeehon. He will receive an individual certificate recognizing his accomplishments, and his name will appear on a perpetual plaque in the UHV School of Business Administration office. He will also be invited to serve as a panelist at future case competitions.
Past BBA Conference winners include Dallas Higgs in Spring 2010, Marilyn Jendrusch in Fall 2009, Steven Hasty and Ashley Trevino in Spring 2009, Brianne Masculine in Fall 2008, Christina Anderson and Stephanie Grace in Spring 2008, Alfred Baca in Fall 2007, and Thomas Brogan in Spring 2007.
