BBA-Accounting

Mission and Objectives

In January 2005, BusinessWeek reported that "there has never been a better time to be an auditor." With perks, workplace flexibility, and compensation at an all-time high, accounting is the career of choice for many students with ambition and the determination to succeed in business.

Accounting graduates who accept positions in private industry or not-for-profits join management teams, whose purpose is to provide information which supports management decisions as well as performance evaluations. In some cases, these graduates focus on tax reporting and planning. Accounting graduates who opt for careers in public accounting provide consulting, tax, and auditing services to a variety of clients, both individual and organizational. These students go beyond the BBA in Accounting to pursue a graduate degree which allows them to satisfy the 150-hour requirement for Certified Public Accountants.

The School of Business Administration prepares students for entry level and professional positions in business. BBA graduates will:

  • Comprehend the business environment and functions.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrate computer usage skills.
  • Employ ethical principles in all business situations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively on teams in diverse organizations.
