The UHV School of Business Administration was among the first to offer online programs. Our faculty became so adept at this mode of instruction that in 2005 an AACSB Peer Review Team described the SBA as a "national" model for distance education and online delivery. Now, over half of our undergraduate and graduate classes are taught online. Students will find that our online courses are taught by the same faculty who teach our face-to-face courses (at UH Sugar Land, Cinco Ranch, and Victoria), and that these courses do not compromise on quality or rigor. When teaching online, faculty members communicate with students via virtual office hours, and utilize online meeting software for individual and group presentations. Discussion boards and narrated slides replace face-to-face lectures.
Students with busy personal and professional lives find the flexibility that comes with online classes particularly convenient. The ability to “attend" class at any time – before or after work, while traveling, after putting the kids in bed – make it possible for students to complete their degree in a timely manner. Although a few individuals take all of their classes online, most students take a mixture of online and face-to-face classes.
Professional and courteous staff, available by phone and email (firstname.lastname@example.org), are available to respond to and address any technical issues encountered by students.
