Stephanie Solansky

Dr. Solansky is an Associate Professor of Management at the University of Houston-Victoria. She received her Ph.D. in Organization and Management Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She has taught many courses in Management including: organizational behavior, leadership, change management, organizational theory, principles of management, business communication, managing teams, organizational development, and contemporary issues in management.

Dr. Solansky's professional background includes: working as a purchasing agent in a public corporation; developing a database of free trade agreements for the International Trade Administration/U.S. Department of Commerce; consulting with many types of organizations on behavioral and strategic issues (Fortune 500, Department of Defense, small businesses, emergency responders, k-12 schools, etc); serving as a primary grant writer and director/coordinator for a multi-million dollar leadership professional development program in which over 1000 organizational administrators were trained across the state of Texas.

Dr. Solansky pursues the following research interests: leadership, teamwork, self-determination and decision-making, intra- and inter-organizational collaboration, complexity theory, qualitative and quantitative data analysis. She is an active member of the Academy of Management and is an award-winning author from one of the world's leading journals in the field of management: Best Paper Award-Academy of Management Journal. She has presented her research at the top management conferences and has published in esteemed, peer-reviewed journals including: Academy of Management Journal, Administration & Society, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Leadership & Organizational Studies, Journal of Managerial Psychology, Leadership Quarterly and Non-Profit Management & Leadership.

Dr. Solansky is married to Frank Solansky. They have two children: Frankie and Brady. She enjoys spending time with her family and staying active through kayaking, fishing, biking, swimming, surfing, wakeboarding, horseback riding, sailing and trying new adventures such as sky diving, waterfall repelling, and diving with sharks.
