Master of Arts in
Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS) ::
Forensics
Forensic Science is a growing field in the scientific community and there is a great need of trained analyst/scientists in the field. Research
shows that there is a dearth in crime analyst in the nation, particularly in the state of Texas. UHV has a strong Biology program including state
of the art molecular genetics (DNA) labs. UHV also has well defined programs in criminal justice, psychology, and math, which can be taken in combination
with the forensic science concentration in the Masters of Interdisciplinary Studies program. With 14 faculty members in biology, criminal justice,
psychology and math/computer science, UHV is an ideal institution to provide students with curricula to prepare for careers in this area.
