Undergraduate Programs: Computer Science- Digital Gaming & Simulation Concentration
This degree program is offered in Victoria and Sugar Land.
UHV’s Digital Gaming and Simulation concentration within the Bachelors of Science in Computer Science allows students to look into and participate in the fast-growing digital gaming phenomenon. It will help you build and develop technical skills and explore the development and study of digital games.
You will also gain a cultural perspective on the history, philosophy, ethics, and sociology of digital games and game playing. As the program grows, we plan to add additional components such as the business of gaming and serious game development.
Some core courses in this program include: Game Artificial Intelligence & Behavioral Modeling, Game Engines, Gaming Networks Architecture, Game Programming using DirectX, Digital Games as Communication, Interactive Narrative, Project Management, and a Senior Project, which is a group activity involving an interdisciplinary team of programmers, artists, story writers and others.
Students pursuing this degree also have many electives to choose from, including Game Internship, Art for Gaming, Virtual Worlds, Visual Communication, 3D Modeling, Multimedia
Animation, Operating Systems, and Software Engineering.
