Dr. Michele Quiñones is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Houston-Victoria. She came to UHV in 2013 from Texas State University-San Marcos where she was a student and instructor in the School of Criminal Justice. Dr. Quiñones has also worked for several police departments in a variety of capacities.

Dr. Quiñones attained her MA and PhD in Criminal Justice from Texas State University-San Marcos, and her BA in Anthropology from the University of Texas-Austin.

Dr. Quiñones is actively engaged in research and regularly presents at academic conferences. Dr. Quiñones’ primary research interests are race and ethnicity in the criminal justice system and utilizing qualitative approaches to study criminal justice issues.
