Applying to UHV

The admission process for UHV is summarized in the checklists below.

Undergraduate

  • Submit a completed application for undergraduate admission to UHV. There is no application fee.
  • Submit an official transcript from EACH college attended. You may either request that your previous institution send your transcript directly to us, or you may personally submit a copy of your transcript sealed by your previous institution to your advisor.
  • Request that your TASP scores (reading, writing and mathematics) be mailed directly from National Evaluation Systems, Inc. to UH-Victoria, unless the scores appear on an official transcript being sent from a college formerly attended. NOTE: Students who have completed at least three semester hours of acceptable college credit prior to September 1, 1989 are exempt from taking the TASP. For other exemptions, refer to the ADMISSIONS section of the catalog.

Postbaccalaureate (ex. teacher certification)

  • Submit a completed application for postbaccalaureate admission to UHV. There is no application fee.
  • Submit an official transcript from EACH college attended. You may either request that your previous institution send your transcript directly to us, or you may personally submit a copy of your transcript sealed by your previous institution to your advisor.

Graduate

  • Submit a completed application for graduate admission to UHV. There is no application fee.
  • Submit an official transcript from EACH college attended. You may either request that your previous institution send your transcript directly to us, or you may personally submit a copy of your transcript sealed by your previous institution to your advisor.
  • Request that appropriate exam scores be mailed directly from the Educational Testing Service to UH-Victoria. Most graduate applicants should complete the GRE [verbal and quantitative sections only] for all majors; however, applicants to graduate business programs should complete the GMAT, and counseling education students may substitute the MAT.
There are exceptions to the exam requirement. Applicants holding a master's degree from an accredited institution may be admitted based on an official transcript from the institution which awarded the degree (mailed directly from that institution to UH-Victoria). Under certain circumstances, graduate business students may appeal for GMAT waivers. In many cases, applicants who have not yet completed exam requirements will be eligible for temporary program admission.

Deadlines

With the exception of International Student Admissions, there are no specific deadlines for applications for admission; however, credentials should be received as early as possible to ensure time for processing before registration.

International student admission deadline is eight weeks prior to the first day of class.
