Understanding Plagiarism

Lisa Bullock originally delivered a
version of this presentation in 2004. This revised
and updated presentation, voiced by Katie Moody, defines
plagiarism, suggests why some students plagiarize,
indicates common forms that plagiarism takes, and shares
how readers know when writers are plagiarizing.
The presentation also indicates why citation is
important and lists other Academic Center resources
related to avoiding plagiarism, researching, and
writing.
Writing Academic Proposals

This presentation by Jennifer Mond,
Academic Center peer tutor, discusses academic proposals
as persuasive documents. Mond provides an example
proposal and discusses each section within the sample
proposal, focusing on the purpose of each section and on
