  Workshops and Presentations

 

The Academic Center will offer face-to-face workshops and presentations during some semesters. Dates, times, and locations for presentations are posted here.

 

No face-to-face workshops or presentations are currently scheduled.

 

Additionally, the center offers online workshops or presentations that can be worked through or viewed at your convenience. These workshops or presentations may be web-based or Power Point presentations.

 

Power Point presentations contain audio.  The Power Point presentations may require the installation of Java. (Free and available from http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.4.2_06/index.html.)

(A web-based workshop.)
This workshop was designed for UHV students as an introduction to the process of conducting research for papers or projects. Within these pages you can learn about defining a research topic, designing a search strategy, locating and retrieving information, evaluating information, and using and citing information.

 

Avoiding Accidental Plagiarism

This presentation was originally presented face-to-face on October 1, 2004 by Candice Chovanec Melzow, Lisa Bullock, and John Davis.  The presentation was then revised for the web.
