Academic Center Exercises
We recommend you complete exercises 1, 2, and 3 in that order.
Exercise 1: Exercise one contains twenty-five sentences that you must correct. An answer key is included at the end of the exercise.
Exercise 2: Exercise two contains twenty sentences where you must decide if a sentence contains a pronoun error and, if so, cross out the pronoun and correct the sentence. An answer key is included at the end of the exercise.
Exercise 3: In exercise three, you'll write appropriate pronouns in the blanks provided in each sentence. (10 sentences) An answer key is included at the end of the exercise.
Exercise 4: Exercise four includes two paragraphs. The pronouns have been left out of the paragraphs. Your task is to put the appropriate pronoun or pronouns in each blank. An answer key is included at the end of the exercise.
UHV students can schedule a face-to-face tutoring session with a writing tutor or contact an online tutor to discuss any of these exercises or for additional assistance.
