  Active and Passive Sentences

Exercise 6

Identify the passive sentences in the following paragraph. Change the sentences from passive to active by using the steps provided in the Active and Passive Sentences handout.

The decision to move the company overseas was announced by the board of directors on July 5, 2001. Although opposition was presented by employees, the CEO and his hand- selected Relocation Overview Committee pushed the decision through the board by showing the high increase of profits the move would mean for the company. Suggestions were offered by the Overview Committee to send two management teams and three employees from their respective departments to the new facility to work rotating one- month shifts.
