Finals week means summer is around the corner

Well, it’s my last blog, and that means it is FINALS WEEK, which isn’t the best week out of the semester, but it does mean summer is just a few more days away.

First year at UHV draws to a close

Well, it is the last week of classes before finals. It’s hard to believe that I, as well my other fellow freshmen, have almost completed our first year of college.

Crunchy cookie for mom and crunch time for students

I hope everyone had a great Easter with their family and friends. I know I did.

School year speeds along

Well, I can definitely tell that the semester is coming to an end. The weeks are starting to get busier and are flying by.

Fishing outing yields 20 catfish

So I went home to Yorktown on Thursday evening. I usually come home on Fridays after hitting balls on the range because I don’t have class, but I can practice here in Yorktown, too.

‘Red Friday’ a small way to show support for soldiers

The other night I was on Facebook, and I noticed I had an invitation to attend "Red Friday.” This event doesn’t just occur one Friday; it will occur each Friday until all our troops are home. A young woman in our town is married to a soldier and she is selling red shirts that say "Red Friday, until they all come home.” So I ordered one to show my support and many others also are getting shirts.

White feet but cute toes

So I hope everyone had a good week back. The hardest part for me was getting up early. I can’t believe March is almost over, and April will be here Friday. I’m excited for this week because Wednesday my class is canceled, and on Thursday, another one of my classes is canceled. It definitely gives me more time to do other homework, practice longer and sleep. Tuesday and Thursday I have three classes, so I’m glad just to have two this Thursday.

It’s back to the books

Well I’m sad that Spring Break has come to an end. This past week went by too fast. I guess it’s time to get back to the books.

Keep students in mind when deciding on switch to Texas A&M

So many of you already know that state Rep. Geanie Morrison has proposed a bill to move the University of Houston-Victoria into the Texas A&M University System.

Spring Break to feature golf, family, friends, sleep

So I haven’t really talked about school in a few weeks, and I hope everyone is doing great. I have two exams coming up this week, a paper due and another exam due the week after Spring Break. I wish everyone good luck on their exams and a safe Spring Break.

Daylight savings time

So in about two weeks not only do we have Spring Break, but we also begin Daylight Savings Time on March 13. So don’t forget to put your clocks one hour ahead or you may be late for work.

Watch a new movie once a week just for fun

So we all have our favorite movies. Mine would be old ones, new ones and a bunch of different varieties. My favorites are "The Lion King,” "Up,” "Spiderman,” "Batman,” "Twilight,” "New Moon,” "Eclipse” and many, many more.

Finessing finite math

So the only class I’m having a problem in is Finite Math. The first couple of weeks were simple, but as the semester continues it keeps getting harder and harder. Before this, math was not really a struggle for me, but I’m thinking I may need to concentrate a little more and take some better notes.

Student makes switch to accounting with help of UHV adviser, career survey

Another week down for the spring semester, and everything is going great! I’m only taking 12 hours this semester − four classes. My classes are Government, Finite Math, English 1302 and History 1301.

Golf tan returns

So it was another good week of classes for me. I haven’t had any more mix-ups − yet. I’ve already made some good grades, and I hope for it to stay that way!

Where is English 1302?

So I hope everyone had a great first week back; I know I did! Not only did I start classes back up, but we also started golf practice. Golf and my classes don’t interfere with each other, and my grades aren’t effected in any way, but it does take time management. Time management is something that everyone starting college needs to work on because each class is going to require different things. I’ve learned to keep up and stop procrastinating. For those of you thinking of participating in any sport, I, for one, think it’s a great idea.

Welcome back to UHV

Hey fellow Jaguars! I hope you all had a good break. I know I enjoyed mine, but now I'm ready to start back up. I hope this spring semester goes by just as quick as the fall.
