Letting Education Achieve Dream (LEAD) and Student Recruitment staff members are busy meeting with and communicating with accepted applicants to ensure that all financial aid and housing documents are filed, and to assist with the orientation sign-up process. Additionally, recruiters are working on assessing the efforts of this past recruiting season, and planning the strategies for the upcoming year. A significant project is the updating of presentations made to school classes, at college fairs, and for parent nights, and the creation of new programs that will engage students and highlight the values of UHV.
New contacts and new applications are still coming in every day. Many of the more recent applicants are being quite proactive about getting their materials in, and tell us they are very excited about the opportunities at UHV.
Believe it or not, July brought the start of our recruitment events for freshmen who will begin in fall, 2011! Our Houston team worked a college fair for rising high school seniors in the Conroe area on July 28th. The team is working closely with the Marketing Department on the content and look of our new recruitment publications, and starting to schedule the major fall recruitment events in our target areas.
