Creating an Endowment or Scholarship
An endowment at the University of Houston-Victoria, is a stable investment that yields secure, significant annual returns. Guaranteeing support for the future, endowments fund a variety of campus-wide initiatives and programs that include student scholarships, faculty research and development, and distinguished chairs and professorships.
Endowed professorships and chairs, which will carry the name of the donor, allow UH-Victoria schools and programs the opportunity for attracting and rewarding distinguished faculty. Named teaching positions also offer recognition and visibility to specific areas of a faculty members expertise.
By creating a lasting and meaningful difference in the lives of UHV students, endowments enable donors to create a perpetual source of scholarship funds. Scholarships may be an important criteria in determining where outstanding students choose to pursue their education.
In addition to endowed scholarships, UHV welcomes non-endowed scholarship giving with a minimum gift of $600. Different from endowments, these awards provide a one-time financial assistance opportunity for our students.
